How to Make a DIY Fragrance Travel Kit

Building a travel kit from scratch is easier and cheaper than you think. Here's everything you need for a complete portable fragrance setup.

The Components

3-5 decants (5ml each): One fresh, one warm, one versatile, plus optional occasion-specific picks. Total: $15-30.

A small pouch or case: A zippered mesh bag, leather case, or even a thick ziplock bag. Something that protects the vials and keeps them together. Total: $5-15.

Labels: If your decants aren't already labeled, a small strip of tape with the fragrance name prevents mix-ups.

The Curated Kit

Fresh daily: Sauvage EDP ($6). Evening: The One EDP ($5). Summer: Eau Fraiche ($3). Cold weather: SWYI ($5). Wild card: Afnan 9pm ($3). Five fragrances, every situation covered, total cost around $22.

Packing

Store decants upright in the pouch. Place the pouch in your carry-on's TSA liquids bag (all decants combined are well under the 3.4oz limit). Keep them away from extreme heat. Done.
